Fittings for Copper and Stainless Steel Pipe

Fittings and Valves for Copper and Stainless Steel Pipe

MT’s range of fittings and valves for copper and stainless steel pipe is designed for cold water, hot water, hydraulic networks, maintenance, refurbishment and technical applications where a fast, secure and detachable connection is required.

These compression fittings allow copper and stainless steel pipes to be connected without welding, making installation easier in new construction, refurbishments, extensions and repairs. The range includes straight couplings, male and female couplings, elbows, tees, reducers, caps, wall plate elbows, replacement compression rings and ball valves with compression connections.

Advantages of Fittings and Valves for Copper and Stainless Steel Pipe

Compression fittings for copper and stainless steel pipe are a practical solution for installations where fast installation, easy maintenance and reliable connections without welding processes are required.
  • Compression Connection Without Welding

: MT compression fittings allow copper and stainless steel pipes to be connected using a mechanical tightening system. The connection is made by inserting the pipe into the fitting and tightening the nut, securing the compression ring around the pipe to create a strong and watertight connection.
This system eliminates the need for open flames, soft soldering or brazing, reducing installation times and making installation easier in indoor spaces, refurbishments, repairs and areas where applying heat is not recommended.
  • Detachable and Easy-to-Maintain Installation

: Unlike other permanent systems, compression fittings make it easier to access and modify the installation. This is particularly useful in networks that may require component replacement, extensions, route changes or periodic maintenance.
The ability to install and dismantle connections makes this range a suitable solution for plumbing refurbishments, repairs to existing installations, technical rooms, residential communities, commercial premises and professional maintenance work.
  • Compatible with Copper and Stainless Steel Pipe

: The range is designed for use with copper and stainless steel pipes, two materials widely used in hydraulic installations, hot water, heating and technical networks. This compatibility allows connections to be made in new or existing installations where different metal materials are combined.
  • Complete Range of Fittings and Valves

: MT offers a wide range of products for complete installations with copper and stainless steel pipe. Available formats include straight couplings, reducing couplings, male couplings, female couplings, 90° elbows, male and female elbows, equal tees, reducing tees, female tees, wall plate elbows, crossover bends, caps, replacement compression rings and ball valves with stainless steel handles or butterfly handles.

Applications of Fittings for Copper and Stainless Steel Pipe

  • Plumbing and Domestic Water Installations

Compression fittings for copper and stainless steel are suitable for cold and domestic hot water networks in homes, residential communities, hotels, offices, educational facilities, commercial premises and public buildings. Compression connections make installation possible without welding and allow pipe sections to be connected, branches and changes of direction to be made, and threaded components to be integrated into the system.
  • Refurbishment, Repairs and Maintenance

: In refurbishment and repair work, compression fittings are particularly useful because they allow connections to be made without applying an open flame or dismantling large sections of the installation. They are a practical solution for replacing fittings, adding branches, repairing copper or stainless steel pipe sections, installing shut-off points or modifying pipe routes in homes, residential communities, commercial premises, workshops, technical rooms and buildings in operation.
  • Heating and Hot Water Networks

: The range can be used in heating systems and hot water networks, always within the pressure and temperature limits specified for each product. Compatibility with copper and stainless steel pipe makes it possible to work on existing installations where these materials are still widely used, particularly in heating circuits, boiler rooms, distribution networks and auxiliary connections.

Frequently asked questions

How are compression fittings connected to copper or stainless steel pipe?
Compression fittings are connected by inserting the pipe into the fitting and tightening the nut. As the nut is tightened, the compression ring is secured around the pipe, creating a strong and watertight mechanical connection without the need for welding.
Series 66 is manufactured from nickel-plated brass (UNE-EN 12164), while Series 67 is manufactured from brass (UNE-EN 12165). Both series are designed for copper and stainless steel pipe and use a compression connection. The choice depends on the desired finish and the requirements of the project.

MT compression fittings have a nominal pressure rating of PN16. Their technical limits vary according to temperature: up to 16 bar at 30°C, 10 bar at 65°C, 6 bar at 110°C and 5 bar at 120°C. The valves feature a PN30 body, an operating temperature range from -20°C to 120°C and a maximum working pressure of 16 bar.

The installation must always be designed within these limits and in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Yes. One of the advantages of compression fittings is that they facilitate maintenance, component replacement and modifications compared with welded systems. During any intervention, the condition of the compression ring, nut and connection seal should be checked.
