POLYETHYLENE PIPE FITTINGS

Brass Fittings and Valves for Polyethylene (PE) Pipe

MT’s range of brass fittings and valves for polyethylene (PE) pipe is designed for water, irrigation, gardening, hydraulic networks, compressed air systems and technical applications where a strong, detachable and easy-to-install connection is required.

MT offers different connection solutions for polyethylene pipes, including brass compression fittings, flanged fittings, threaded fittings, elbows, tees, couplings and ball valves with connections for polyethylene pipe.

These components allow secure connections to be made in PE pipe without welding, making installation, repairs and network extensions easier in agricultural, industrial, residential and professional applications.

Advantages of Fittings and Valves for Polyethylene Pipe

MT fittings and valves for polyethylene pipe are designed to facilitate the connection of PE networks in installations where strength, fast installation and easy maintenance are required.
  • Compression Connection Without Welding

: Compression fittings and valves for PE pipe allow secure mechanical connections to be made without welding, heat fusion or complex tools. The connection is made by tightening the fitting onto the polyethylene pipe, creating a strong and watertight joint. This system is particularly practical for irrigation, gardening, water distribution, auxiliary networks and maintenance applications, where sections of pipe may need to be quickly dismantled, replaced or extended.
  • A Complete, Versatile, Durable and Certified System

: The MT range includes brass compression fittings for PE pipe, manufactured with brass bodies and EPDM O-rings. Depending on the series, the fittings are designed for cold water, hot water and compressed air. The MT series of PE pipe fittings includes male threaded versions (Series 99), female threaded versions (Series 88) and flanged fittings (Series 89) for larger diameters, allowing the installation to be adapted to different connection requirements. The range includes PE/PE couplings, PE/PE elbows, tees, male and female fittings, threaded elbows, threaded tees, wall plate elbows, flanged fittings, spare parts, seals and ball valves with stainless steel handles and optional threaded connections.
  • Pressure and Temperature Performance

: MT PE pipe fittings are manufactured from high-quality brass and are designed for pressurised installations. Series 88 has a nominal pressure rating of PN25 and a maximum temperature of 90°C, with leak-tightness tested up to 40 bar. Series 89 and Series 99 have a maximum pressure rating of PN16, with technical ratings of 16 bar at 20°C and 4.2 bar at 95°C. Series 4100 PE valves are designed to operate with the valve and pipe system up to 25 bar, with leak-tightness tested up to 40 bar and an operating temperature range from -20°C to 120°C.

Applications of Fittings and Valves for Polyethylene Pipe

MT fittings and valves for PE pipe are designed for installations where polyethylene pipe is used for its flexibility, strength and ease of installation. They are commonly used in water networks, irrigation, gardening, agricultural installations, compressed air systems and technical pipework.
  • Irrigation Systems, Agricultural Installations, Gardening and Green Areas

: They are widely used in agricultural irrigation systems, gardens, nurseries, parks, residential communities, green areas and outdoor water distribution networks. Compression connections make it easy to install branches, changes of direction, extensions and repairs in existing installations. They can also be used with PE networks in different diameters, allowing the system to be adapted to the actual layout of the site or installation.
  • Cold Water, Hot Water and Hydraulic Distribution Networks

: MT PE fittings can be used in cold and hot water networks, always within the technical temperature, pressure and regulatory limits applicable to each installation. The availability of PE/PE, PE/male and PE/female fittings and valves for PE pipe makes it possible to connect polyethylene sections to threaded components, hydraulic equipment, pumps, manifolds, shut-off points and existing networks.
  • Industrial Installations, Compressed Air and Auxiliary Networks

: Some MT PE fitting series are suitable for cold water, hot water and compressed air, making them suitable for auxiliary networks, workshops, industrial installations, technical pipework and maintenance systems. For these applications, it is important to select the appropriate fitting series, diameter, working pressure and compatibility with the fluid being transported.

Frequently asked questions

What pressure and temperature can MT fittings and valves for PE pipe withstand?
It depends on the series. Series 88 has a nominal pressure rating of PN25 and leak-tightness tested up to 40 bar. Series 89 and Series 99 have a maximum pressure rating of PN16, with 16 bar at 20°C and 4.2 bar at 95°C. Series 4100 valves can operate up to 25 bar as part of the valve and pipe system and have been tested for leak-tightness up to 40 bar.

They are connected by inserting the PE pipe into the fitting and tightening the nut to create a secure and watertight mechanical connection, without welding or heat fusion.

For larger connections, flanged fittings can be used, which are commonly found in hydraulic networks, pumps, manifolds and equipment.

HDPE stands for high-density polyethylene and is commonly used in water networks, irrigation, buried pipework and installations with higher mechanical requirements. LDPE stands for low-density polyethylene and is more flexible, making it suitable for applications where greater ease of handling is required. MT Series 4100 valves are compatible with HDPE and LDPE pipes in Ø20, Ø25 and Ø32 mm diameters.
Yes. Compression fittings for polyethylene pipe are widely used in agricultural irrigation, gardening, parks, green areas, nurseries and outdoor networks. They allow branches, extensions, changes of direction and repairs to be carried out quickly and with detachable connections.
Yes, depending on the series. Series 88 is DVGW certified for drinking water supply, while Series 4100 valves are suitable for use with cold and hot drinking water. In all cases, the applicable operating conditions, local regulations and compatibility of the fluid with the fitting materials should always be checked.
